July/August Card Buffet

Being flexible is an important part of life.  A house sitting opportunity came my way, so our monthly card buffet needs to be pushed a week later, which now puts it into August.  There are 5 weeks in August, so that works to my advantage.  I am also so thankful for ladies who are flexible also.  I also like to pass on the flexibility to my ladies.  Sentiments can be changed to what fits your needs.  Hope you can join me for a special time of creativity and fellowship.

June 2017 Card Buffet

Since we are deep into summer temperatures here in Texas, and since Texas has an abundance of beautiful flowers, our buffet this month will center around Stampin' Ups new Daisy punch and stamp set.  You will be making four cards along with a box to store them in until you need them.  This is a wonderful chance to increase your card supply or as a gift for someone special.  3 of the 4 cards have been left blank because you will be able to choose the sentiment you want on the card.  The thank you card can also be changed to a different sentiment.

May Card Buffet

Happy Saturday everyone!  Are you gearing up for Summer in North Texas?  Since I spend so much time indoors to avoid the heat, it's a perfect opportunity to stamp and create.  The days and weeks seem to go by so quickly, and here it is time for another card buffet.  We are also at the end of another Stampin' Up catalog with the new one due to debut on June 1st.  It's always exciting to work with new products and share them with our friends and customers.

2017 April Card Buffet

Here we are at the end of April and in the middle of the retiring season at Stampin' Up.  It's always a sad time along with an exciting time.  I never like to see some of my favorite items retire, but look forward to what is new, especially new In Colors.  The cards this month feature some retiring products as well as some things that will still be in the new catalog.  You have until May 31st to grab retiring products that you can't live without.  Some things are already sold out, so if there is anything you might want, please check with me so I can see if the items are still available.

1.  Fresh Fruit - I love this set because of all the wonderful
colors and of course the luscious fruit.  You can also
change the sentiment to Get Well, Happy Birthday or
even Thinking of You.

2.  Sympathy - The paper and ribbon is retiring, but the
stamp set will be in the new catalog.  Again you can
change the sentiment to what you might need.

3.  Mother's Day - I am really sad to lose the Botanical
Blooms set.  But I will keep it and use it for my own
cards.  Don't have your Mother anymore?  This would
be a great Get Well or Thank You or Birthday card.
It would even work as a sympathy card.

4.  Hello Baby - Here is another stamp set with matching
framelits that is retiring.  Besides the yellow, I have made
the card in pink, blue and green.  The choice is yours.

2017 March Card Buffet

Happy Spring to everyone!  Being a northern girl, temps in the 80's feel more like summer to me, but at least we don't have the snow and ice.  That is always something to be thankful for in my book.  I love seeing the tree outside my deck budding, and all the flowering trees are looking magnificent.  And when Spring arrives, Easter comes to my mind.  This month we will be making two Easter cards in preparation to bless someone special in your life for this wonderful holiday.

Easter Cross - He has risen!

Happy Easter flowers

Tools - Thanks for Always
Building me up.
You can change the sentiment and
make it a birthday card or even
an anniversary card.

Eggs! - I just love this little guy!  This
would make a cute thank you card
for a special lady in your life.

February Card Buffet

What a beautiful Saturday here in Fort Worth.  It's hard to believe it is still February because it certainly feels like spring or early summer.  We are in the middle of Stampin' Up's Sale-A-Bration.  With every $50 order, you can choose a FREE item from the special brochure.  This month we will be using a few of these products to create some fun cards.  I hope you like them and will send them to someone special in your life.

January 2017 Card Buffet

Happy New Year everyone!  What a great start to a new year.  A new president and administration.  A new Occasions catalog along with Sale-A-Bration.  And it's a very beautiful day here in Fort Worth - sunny and 64 degrees.  That's picnic weather, right?  Maybe not, but it sure is beautiful.  This is the time of year I break out the Valentine sets to create some cards in plenty of time for Valentine's Day.  The new Occasions catalog has a wonderful stamp set along with framelits that I am loving.  I think this Occasions catalog is the best one I've seen in a long time.  With every $50 you spend from either the Annual or Occasions catalog you can choose a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  There is an adorable chicken stamp set which we will be using this month.  So I hope to see many of you this month to create some cute cards together.

Happy Valentine's Day - aren't the little envelopes just the cutest!

Valentine #2 - Valentines can be a little "grungy".

Happy Day Chicken - with new Hexagon embossing folder
inked and made to look like chicken wire

October Card Buffet

Happy Fall to everyone!  I am thoroughly enjoying the cooler weather that has finally arrived in Texas.  Having the windows open and the AC off is a true blessing.  Fresh air is wonderful!  Buffet this month will include cards to help us prepare for the upcoming holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas.  It's never too early to get a jump on card making.

September Card Buffet

I'm dreaming of some COOL weather.  Yes, it's Autumn but summer likes to hang on a bit longer here in Texas.  But the coming holidays will come to pass no matter what the temperature says.  Fall is such a wonderful time of the year with the beautiful colors of changing leaves.  The Sheltering Tree stamp set is a very versatile set to show all the seasons, so I hope you will enjoy making some Fall cards that can be used to celebrate Thanksgiving also.  And we can't forget to get a start on Christmas too.

August 2016 Card Buffet

What a wonderful week of cooler weather we have been having in North Texas.  Temps in the 80's are such a relief from the 100's we've been having.  Fall is on its way, and I am so thankful for that.  I am also thankful for friends who are willing to share stamp sets that I might not have so that I can share new ideas with you.

Here we are in the middle of summer with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.  Oh for a trip to the mountains.  But that is not possible so card making in my air conditioned apartment will have to do.  And what is a favorite summer snack or picnic staple - fruit or fruit salad.  This new stamp set - Fresh Fruit - has become a new favorite of mine.  These cards were such fun to make and I hope you will enjoy them as well.

June Card Buffet

Without really planning a theme for this month, it sort of ended up being "flowers".  I really love flowers,  The varieties and colors are endless.  Apartment living doesn't lend itself very much to growing flowers.  And the Texas heat can sure wilt them in no time at all.  The building next to my apartment used to be the Plant Shed nursery.  It was so nice looking at all the wonderful living things in the back of their building.  Now I mainly create them with paper.  Please join me and we will create lovely cards together.

May Card Buffet

It's that time of year again when new Stampin' Up products are about to make their debut.  That means some older products need to be retired.  So it's time for my annual "Going, Going, Gone" card buffet.  These cards are using retired stamps, inks, papers, punches, etc.  You have until May 31st to place an order for retired products.  The new comes in on June 1st.  Change is never easy, but without change, there would be no butterflies.
