OWH - Challenge #6 - Sunday Sketch #136

Each Sunday a Sketch Challenge is sent out with a specific layout to be used.
The possibilities are truly endless.  Today's sketch coincides with the VCMP.  Thanks to
Linda at Creepin Along for hosting this challenge.

The butterflys are punched with the new Stampin' Up Butterfly punch and the Beautiful Wings sizzlet in So Saffron, Pool Party and Soft Suede.  The birthday sentiment is in Soft Suede from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, also from SU.

OWH - Challenge #5 - Western

Here's #5 for today.  I better get this posted before it's tomorrow.  I'm not into cowboys, but I do love horses and have hung on to this retired Stampin' Up set - Bareback.  The sentiment again comes from the Trust God set from Stampin' Up.  Cardstock used is Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Very Vanilla.  The horse and sentiment are stamped in Early Espresso.  It's not real clear, but some galloping horses are stamped lightly along the bottom in Crumb Cake.  And to give it a more western look, I glued jute twine around the the image.  If the horse looks wrinkled, that's because it is.  I love the technique of stamping and then wadding up the cardstock to give it an aged look.  Sponging the edges also adds to the aged look.  Well...it's been a very productive and fun day.  So it's off to bed I go to get ready for church and then 5 more challenges tomorrow.

OWH - Challenge #4 - Triple Time Stamping

Here is a technique I recently learned about and have been wanting to try.  Today
was my chance, and I really, really like how easy it is.

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  It's not quite as nice here in Texas as it was in Wisconsin and Minnesota, but I enjoy it anyway.  The days are cooler, and the leaves eventually do change.  Here is one of my favorite Stampin' Up sets - French Foliage.  It is so easy to make your own designer paper with this set.  More Mustard and Very Vanilla are the cardstocks used.  Inks used are More Mustard, Garden Green, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Elegant Eggplant.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying the VCMP as much as I am.

OWH - Challenge #3 - Snowflakes

What a great challenge to do on a 98 degree day in
Fort Worth, Texas - Snowflakes but not Christmas!

So fun to use the new Stampin' Up Scentsational Season stamp set and the Holiday Collection Framelits for the cocoa mug.  Dark background paper and ink is Stampin' Up Midnight Muse.  Designer paper is from a stash that a friend gifted me with.  When the weather finally decides to cool off here in Texas, I always look forward to a mug of cocoa.  After living in Wisconsin and Minnesota most of my life, I don't miss the snow anymore.

OWH - Challenge #2 - Recipe Challenge

1 Image
2 Patterned Papers
3 Word Sentiment

Patterned papers are from a pile of scrapbooking paper I was given.  Flower is from the Stampin' Up Mixed Bunch set and punched with the Blossom punch.  Elegant Eggplant was used for the flower, the border and the border around the Designer Label punch.  God Bless You is from the Stampin' Up Trust God set.  Now on to the next challenge.  Thanks for viewing.

OWH - Our Daily Bread September and VCMP Challenge

This is going to be a fun weekend.  I am taking part in a Virtual Card Making Party with Operation Write Home.  This first challenge was from Our Daily Bread Designs.  It is also part of Our Daily Bread's monthly challenge.  We are to create an inspirational card with a scripture verse or some other type of encouragement.  I chose a stamp from Stampin' Up's Trust God set.  It says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."  And since I was making a card, why not make two to send in my next box to OWH.  Thanks for stopping by!  May your day and weekend be blessed and filled with much creativity!

August Card Buffet

The temps have gone down (a little), we've finally had some rain, and school has started in some places.  That must mean Fall is on the way.  Though the leaves won't change for a few months, I always look forward to this time of year.  I hope many of you will be able to join in on the creativity this month.
