OWH - Challenge #5 - Western

Here's #5 for today.  I better get this posted before it's tomorrow.  I'm not into cowboys, but I do love horses and have hung on to this retired Stampin' Up set - Bareback.  The sentiment again comes from the Trust God set from Stampin' Up.  Cardstock used is Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Very Vanilla.  The horse and sentiment are stamped in Early Espresso.  It's not real clear, but some galloping horses are stamped lightly along the bottom in Crumb Cake.  And to give it a more western look, I glued jute twine around the the image.  If the horse looks wrinkled, that's because it is.  I love the technique of stamping and then wadding up the cardstock to give it an aged look.  Sponging the edges also adds to the aged look.  Well...it's been a very productive and fun day.  So it's off to bed I go to get ready for church and then 5 more challenges tomorrow.

  1. The "wrinkled paper technique" is perfect for this rustic, western design and a nice way to add interest. Especially in masculine cards that you don't want to add frills to. I will have to remember to use it myself. The twine frame is great too. Glad you were able to come to the party this weekend! :)
