OWH - VCMP Challenge #2

Paula, at paulaposts.blogspot.com brings us a Kids card/Sketch challenge using OWH Sketch #28.  I really like seeing how others interpret the sketch and change it up.

I added the Scalloped Trim Border punch along the 5-1/2" Poppy Parade piece and then used 1/2 seam binding ribbon in Pool Party, ran them through the scallop openings and tucked them under.  The ribbon adds some dimension and texture too.

OWH - VCMP

Today is National Scrapbooking Day, so we OWHers are being "Rebels" and making cards for our Heroes to send home to their loved ones.  Our first challenge comes from Our Daily Bread Designs and we are to make a "Missing You" card.  Months ago I found an idea on Pinterest that shows how to use scraps to make a really easy and colorful card.  By changing up the papers and sentiments, the possibilities go on and on.

May Card Buffet

Ever have so many scraps of paper that you wonder how you can put them to good use and be creative at the same time?  This month will be the time to learn something new.  In the photo below, you will see some cards that use the same design but have different looks due to different papers, sentiments and embellishments.  These cards will be going to Operation Write Home, but we will be making some of our own.  All you have to do is come to the class and choose which color schemes you want to use.  All the parts will be cut and ready to assemble.  You will be able to choose what sentiments you want to fit your needs.

OWH - It's a Bugs Life

Yesterday's Mid-week Throwdown is It's a Bugs Life.
I don't have a large collection of bug stamps other than butterflies.  Bugs don't rank high on things I like.  But this cute little bee combined with the honeycomb embossed paper fits the bill.

OWH - Design Bootcamp - Now That's Odd

While using the Rule of Odds, I created a card with three flowers and three leaves.
Even the sentiment is made up of three words.  The flowers were created with the Mixed Bunch stamp set from Stampin' Up.  The leaves were punched from the Blossom Builder punch also from SU.  You fold the leaves in half and then run through a crimper.  It gives them a fun texture.

I learned about using odd numbers years ago in art classes in high school.  It really does make a difference.

All-Occassion Card Stamp-A-Stack

Everyone has at one time or another needed a special card but didn't have the time to run to the store for one.  We are stampers, and we don't run to the store for cards.  Right?  Well...maybe sometimes we do.  Here is your opportunity to build up your supply of special cards.

We will be making 16 total cards.  That's two (2) each of eight (8) designs.  So put March 15th or 16th on your calendar and plan for a day of fun, laughter, and creativity.  Contact me at dmyoung823@att.net for all the details.
