Labor Day Weekend VCMP!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  It's an honor to be a hostess for one of the VCMP challenges.  I hope you have been enjoying being creative, and just maybe you have learned something new along the way.  Since I live in Fort Worth, Texas, I always look forward to Fall.  It comes a little later here then when I lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota.  So my challenge for you is to create a card with a Fall theme, but not a Thanksgiving card.  Use a leaf motif with fall colors - rusts, yellows, golds, red, dark greens, etc.  As you can see below, Sketch #64 is what I chose.  Your card can be an I Love You or I Miss You card, or even a Thinking About You or Thank You.  Can't wait to see what you create!  Have Fun!

My card is created with the Emboss Resist technique.  The leaves were embossed with Pewter embossing powder first onto Vanilla cardstock.  Then the colors are sponged in a random pattern.  The 3.5 x 4.75 panel was put on a Cajun Craze panel and then mounted on a Midnight Muse card.  All products are from Stampin' Up.

Don't forget to link up your beautiful card with the inlinkz thingy
down below.  And keep on stamping!

Baby Shower Time!

This Saturday I get to celebrate the upcoming birth of our second granddaughter, Genevieve Rose.  Two other daughters and I will be going to Little Rock for the shower.  I got the inspiration for this card from Pinterest and Jade at jadedcrafter.blogspot.com/2012/07/owl-punch-for-baby-shower.html.  The onesie is made from the Stampin' Up Owl punch.  How cute is that?  After I cut off the owl's feet, I turned them into a little bow at the neckline with a tiny silver brad in the middle.  And I love the fork technique for making little bows.  Now I need a BIG fork so I can make cute big bows.

August Card Buffet

Here we are at the end of August.  Summer is almost over, and Fall is on its way.  I look forward every year to turning off the air conditioner and opening up the windows.  I hope everyone had a fun, relaxing and productive summer.  Soon the holidays will be here too, so this month we will get a little headstart with a Fall card.  Next month we will try to get a jump on Christmas cards too.

Legos!

Who doesn't like Legos?  Okay, no one likes to step on them in the middle of the night,
in the dark.  But building with them gives kids and even their parents hours of fun.
All 5 of my kids are grown, but we still have the Legos, with no plans to get rid of them.
Grandkids will love them too!

This card is made with 1/2 inch circles.  Did you know those circles on Lego blocks are called studs?  And at night they become pointed like spikes (just kidding!).  This color scheme might be more appropriate for the boy or man in your life.

And here is a color scheme more suitable for girls.  Girls love Legos too!  The studs are made with a 3/4 inch punch on this card.
