Cards for our Troops

Any day is a good day to make cards.  And with some free time on my hands, it's a great time to make cards for the deployed troops.  Operation Write Home is an excellent organization supporting our heroes, making it easier for them to keep in touch with their loved ones at home.  Want more information on OWH and how you too can help, just contact me.

Card Buffet

Yes, it's been a couple months since I have posted anything.  It's not that I haven't been doing anything.  Far from it.  In December I was very busy making nearly 200 Christmas cards for the Bread Basket Ministries, where I volunteer one day a week.  150 of them had 3 poinsettias on the front which were hand cut.  No, I'm not crazy, and it really wasn't that hard.  I would just pop in a movie, put my feet up and start cutting.  Then I had another order from a good friend.  Somewhere in between all this I did manage to get cards out for myself.

Earlier this month I was given an amazing gift from a fellow demonstrator and friend.  Due to a family issue, she wasn't able to attend the Stampin' Up Leadership conference in Orlando, Florida and offered it to me.  How could I say no?  I was able to ride with another friend and her sister, and we had an awesome time.  Now my head is full of information to apply to my stamping business.

Now add to all this confusion our wonderful, sweet friend (and my upline), Judy Hogan suffering from cancer.  A small change is being made with my monthly Card Buffet.  As of right now, we will be meeting at Cindy Culpepper's house, and I've switched the day to the first Monday of the month.  That means there will not be a January Card Buffet, but we will meet on Monday, February 4th.

November Card Buffet

Sometimes life can get in the way of the things we love to do.  With Thanksgiving tomorrow and Christmas only a month away, things have gotten very busy around my house.  I'm a little late at getting the cards posted, but here we go.  I have lived in Texas since 2001, and I don't miss the cold and snow of Minnesota, but I do love snowmen.  And I always like a mug of cocoa on a cool Texas morning.  With no Card Buffet in December, I also wanted to get a jump on Valentine's Day, so there are two cards to get your love flowing.  There are only 4 cards this month, but I know you will find something to get your creativity going.

SWAP!

It's great to get tons of card ideas from the internet or magazines, but getting a card or 3D project that you can hold in your hand and take home with you, is extra special.  And I belong to two Demo groups where we swap cards/projects every month.  Here are the ones I got this past Friday from the larger group headed up by Sharon Cheng.  And later this month I get to swap with Judy Hogan's downline group.  Thanks everyone for such great cards and ideas!

September Card Buffet

Where has the time gone this month?  I thought I had another week to get prepared and guess what...I don't.  I must be enjoying the cooler weather too much to check my calendar.  It's a good thing I had been preparing, thinking I was getting a jump on things this month.  I really love this time of year, and I still have many memories of living in Wisconsin and Minnesota where the leaves are changing and the mornings are crisp.  The cards are fall and holiday themed, and I really hope to see many of you next Monday or Thursday.
